OM71431 is a synchronous step-down converter that supports an input voltage range of 4.5V to 36V and can provide a maximum continuous output current of 3A. The device has a normal switching frequency of 390 kHz and supports adjusting the switching frequency by synchronizing an external clock through the EN/SYNC port, with an adjustable range of 200 KHz to 2.2 MHz.
The device achieves high-efficiency operation through an internally integrated low RDS(ON) power MOS. Under light load conditions, it automatically enters PSM (power saving mode) to reduce the switching frequency and improve light load efficiency.
OM71431 adopts peak current control mode and built-in slope compensation to reduce the number of peripheral components and reduces design difficulty. Supports an adjustable input undervoltage lockout threshold via EN/SYNC, making device design more flexible. Built-in fixed soft start time prevents overshoot voltage and surge current that can occur during startup.
The device also has multiple protection measures such as cycle-by-cycle current limiting, short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown to ensure reliable operation.
The OM71431 is available in eSOP8L package and has a rated junction temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
